SHORT BIO
Essa Rose combines music and painting to create a world of wonder and curiosity. Her inspirations include composer Alan Menken of lush musical soundtracks, Katie Noonan’s dynamic blending of jazz and classical music, and Celine Dion’s powerful ballads and vocal performances. Essa similarly weaves messages of love and faith with rich orchestral elements, ethereal layers of strings, vocals and mesmerising rhythms to paint a soundscape, journeying from darkness to light. Following the launch of ‘Moonlit Metamorphosis’ as her debut EP, Essa later crafted a rendition of 'Butterfly (Made New)' as a Bossa Nova inspired track infused with intimate strings and lush vocals.
Painting
Essa takes inspiration from nature and themes of her music to create art with themes of renewal, love and faith. Her medium of choice is acrylic/oil paint and she also explores watercolour, chalks and mixed media techniques. Her art creates a space for viewers to contemplate, reflect and feel a sense of wonder for life’s beauty. Essa encourages her audience to find peace in the face of storms and embrace hope, gratitude and joy in God's unchanging love. Essa's works are held in private collections in Sydney and Brisbane.
